picture of students
This was the question presented to sixth grade science students at Vilseck Elementary School during a hands-on laboratory activitity. The students came up with the answer using the "scientific method."

The "scientific method" involves making a prediction, testing the prediction with an experiment, observing what happens, recording observations, and finally making a conclusion based upon their observations.

The "scientific method" is recognized and utilized by scientists throughout the world. These sixth grade students are learning a valuable skill that will enhance their education.

Their conclusion, well, you'll just have to ask one of the sixth grade students, or you could do the experiment yourself using the "scientific method."
